LOCKDOWN - A TIME TO READ!

Lockdowns are becoming rather familiar - now we enter our third in the cold and dark of winter. Books can be a ray of sunlight in these difficult times.

Though the bookshop is closed in line with COVID regulations, we can offer a 'click and collect' service - you can order books from us by phone or email and collect them at the door when advised on Wednesdays and Fridays from 10am-1pm.

TIM PEARS TRILOGY TALK

Tim Pears, author of the acclaimed West Country trilogy, will give a talk and answer questions about his work at Dartmouth Library on Thursday 12 Deptember at 7pm. Tickets cost £2.50 to include refreshments, from the library.

We will sell his trilogy books - The Horseman, The Wanderers, and The Redeemed, set on the Devon/Somerset borders during 1911-1916, and evoking landscapes and country life, at the event.

MURDER MYSTERY AT THE LIBRARY

Crime author Kate Ellis will hold a murder mystery event, set on Dartmoor, at Dartmouth Library on Monday 9 September at 3.30-5pm. Tickets cost £2.50 including tea and cakes, from the library. We will be selling copies of Kate's locally set crime stories at the event.

KING OF DUST

Dartmouth Library is hosting a talk by Alex Woodcock, author of a fascinating new book, King of Dust, published by Little Toller on Monday 8 July 2019 at 7pm. Tickets booked at the library cost £2.50 to include wine and refreshments. Dartmouth Community Bookshop is supporting the event and will sell the book on the night.

Alex is a writer and stonemason from the South West of England, who became an archaeologist and scholar of medieval sculpture before beginning to carve himself in his 30s. He worked as a stonemason at Exeter Cathedral for 6 years. The books traces his personal quest for knowledge and understanding through buildings and sculpture in the South West.
